| This is a very rare and unique Coro sterling piece, it is oval with an open shadow box design with oxidation on the inside. The outer piece is designed in what appears to be two fish and a crab, the outer piece is also cut away on the left side giving the pendant a different and unusual look. This piece is not marked silver, but most certainly is and the silver is beautiful and rich looking. This pendant is signed Coro and is hardly ledgable, but can be read with a lope or magnifying glass, the name is where it looks like a dent on the back, it is not a dent only the makers mark. Adolph Katz (German) designed for Coro 1937 to late 1960's, could he have been the designer ? the reason I mention this is the spring catch is marked Germany. This is only a possibility. The chain is remarkably beautiful, it has long rectangular links measuring 1/2 in. long, not including the piece that connects each link. The chain measures 25 1/2 in.'s long, with a spring closure, chain is also silver and marked Germany. The pendant measures 2 1/2 in.'s long, 2 5/8 in. wide. This piece is in excellent condition and weighs 51 grams. |
