| Vintage woodpecker pin in yellow enamel. He has a blue rhinestone for an eye, shading on the yellow to give the feathers a more natural look, sits on a gold bough, feet and bill are gold finish. No enamel missing except on the bottom of the feathers, can't be seen unless you hold the bird bottom side up. The images give the impression of enamel missing on the back, but there isn't, some of the darker spots are gold paint and the dark spot at the bottom of the bird is glue. Measures a little over 2 in.'s long and 1 1/2 in.'s at the widest. A very well made older pin featured on page 65 in Marcia "Sparkles" Brown's book Unsigned Beauties of Costume Jewelry, on page 65. |
