| A wonderful victorian change purse with the top having decorative layered coins some have legible dates or words in European, a banner is at the bottom, probably for engraving. When opened it has written on the edge Pat. Mar 25 1890. Closure is a push and pop up. The bottom of this marvelous purse has a tightly woven taupe colored fabric which is hand decorated with french steel marcasites. The beads also cover the bottom. This piece was orally appraised at an antique show this past summer. It is in near mint condition, a few very, very minor scratches on the inside of the steel cover the rest is perfect, not even a bead missing. It apparently was put away and never used. Measures 2 1/4 in.'s across the top, 2 in.'s in length. A collectors dream. |
