Vintage sea shell change purse in a beautiful purple and white and green colors. The metal seams around the shell are probably brass, although it doesn't smell like brass. The catch and attachment on the bottom are wire. There wasn't any chain or ribbon on the closure but either could be put on without interference with the catch. No lining inside, just the white of the shell. These may have been made later than the late victorian, but I have never seen any. Purse measures 3 1/4 in.'s wide and 3 in.'s from top to bottom, it is domed and resembles an over sized egg. Good ++ condition. I see no damage of any kind, only that the metal needs polishing .
